We knew the gift of this cooler and wetter weather we’ve been enjoying throughout the work week wasn’t going to last forever… But here’s an early heads up as next week is looking HOT and HUMID across Central Texas. The weekend will feature some spotty rain chances. Saturday’s chances are looking slightly better than Sunday’s. Saturday morning will start out with a round of some dense fog with temperatures down into the low 70s. Throughout the day, and especially for the afternoon Saturday, scattered showers and a few non-severe storms will likely pop up across the area. Outside of rain chances, temperatures look to stay in the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies, but with the humidity in place, we’ll feel more like the low 90s for Saturday afternoon. Rain chances go down some for Sunday, which will allow our temperatures to warm up some. There’ll be a chance for a few spotty showers. Morning lows Sunday will be down into the low to mid 70s with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Depending on how much sunshine you see, we could have some feels-like temperatures in the mid to upper 90s Sunday afternoon. For this weekend, the best chance for rain will be near and east of I-35… In fact, many in Central Texas will completely miss out on rain, especially for those west of the interstate.

It’s back to regular scheduled programming for next week. Temperatures will already jump into the mid 90s by Monday and continue to rise throughout the rest of the work week. Although you might not want to remember this, we are in the HOTTEST time of the year here in Central Texas with an average high of 98°. We’ll be back around average throughout much of next week. Morning lows are forecast to start out mid 70s throughout the work week. Afternoon highs will be back in the upper 90s by the middle of the week and stay there through next weekend… And unfortunately, humidity levels will remain elevated next week, so feels-like temperatures will likely be between 100° to 105° into next weekend. Get ready for lots of sunshine and no more rain chances. As we head into the new week, you’ll be able to put away the rain gear and bring back out the sunscreen! Make sure you are staying hydrated and limit your time in the heat and under the sun as much as possible! Fall is only 57 days away… But who’s counting anyways.
