Warmer than normal temperatures will hold on as we head into the week, but the heat won’t be as bad as what we dealt with to end the workweek. High pressure that has been over Texas most of the week will start to shift off to the east. Saturday’s highs will be in the mid-to-upper 90s, with highs near 100°. Sunday’s highs will be in the low-to-mid 90s with a little extra clouds developing. A cold font is set to move through Central Texas Monday, but it may help to spark off a stray shower in our area late Sunday evening.

As the cold front moves in Monday it will keep the chance for spotty showers in the forecast, along with a decent dip in the temperatures. Highs Monday-Thursday look to remain in the upper 80s for most of us, but a few locations may hit the low 90s. Spotty rain chances will remain in the forecast Monday through Wednesday. Overall the temperatures next week look a lot more comfortable than the heat we have dealt with this week!

One thing we’ll have to watch carefully next week is the possibility of a tropical depression or tropical storm moving into the southern Gulf of Mexico late next week.
