The true fall weather is now behind us and we have a chance for some record-breaking warmth later this week. The work week started off with temperatures around the mid 80s, but by the middle of the week, we’ll see highs soar back into the low 90s! Keep in mind, we should have temperatures sitting in the upper 70s this time of the year… So we’ll be running around 10° - 15° above normal for the time being. Overnight we’re expecting quiet conditions to continue into your Tuesday morning. Some clouds and maybe even some patchy fog looks to be around heading out in the morning, but those clouds will likely clear out for the afternoon. Lows tomorrow will start out in the upper 50s and low 60s with highs in the mid 80s to around 90° for the afternoon. The record-breaking warmth looks to arrive Wednesday and possibly Thursday too. The record high for Wednesday is 89°, which was set back in 2022. Right now, we’re forecasting a new record high of 91° for the day. Thursday, the record high is 91°, set back in 1992, and as of now, we may stay just below that around 90°… but odds are increasing that we could see 1 if not 2 new record highs for the week.

Unfortunately, our weather pattern is being dominated by an area of high-pressure and there’s not a significant storm system strong enough to either break the high down or move it far enough away where we get a nice change in our weather to move in. We will see the high start to move further to our southwest by the weekend, which will take away the 90° heat and allow those temperatures to cool off a little, but sadly there’s no sign of any cool, fall air heading our way for the majority of the rest of the month. Temperatures will likely stay in the upper 80s Friday into the start of next week. Also, thanks to that area of high-pressure, we’ll continue to keep rain chances out of the forecast for us in Central Texas for the rest of this week and even into early next week. Our long range forecast models are hinting at a possible storm system moving in from the west coast as we get closer to Halloween. Right now, it looks like we could maybe see some rain move in by the holiday and also see a drop in our temperatures, but the strength of that system and if it truly brings us more normal temperatures and beneficial rainfall is still up in the air, and it’s still a little too far away to say we’re 100% confident on a major weather pattern change moving in… But of course, we’ll keep you updated throughout the rest of the week so you can get all those Halloween plans ready for next week!
