A warm and sunny day for your Tuesday here across Central Texas with afternoon highs in the upper 70s and maybe even pushing into the low 80s in a few areas. Winds coming out of the south will continue to bring warmer air up from the Gulf which will bring us warmer and warmer days to round out the week but that will change pretty drastically to start next week.

We could see a few gusty winds along I-35 and to the west with those spreading out to cover more of the area in the next couple of days and will continue to bring warmer and warmer air into our area bringing our afternoon high temperatures up into the mid 80s to finish the week.

Over the weekend an upper level low pressure trough will dig in across much of the eastern half of the U.S.. While this trough will fall directly over us here in Texas we will certainly see some effects from it. The major change that we will see is a significant drop in temperatures as cooler air gets pulled down from the north and drops our temperatures by close to 20 degrees over the time period from Saturday to Monday. Now there is not a strong or well defined cold front along with this so not much lifting is expected in our atmosphere, and even if there was there would not be much moisture in our area for the front to work with so nothing is expected in the way of rain chances or even cloud cover.

Highs will drop from the 80s to the 60s over the course of the weekend but higher pressure builds back in by the middle of next week bringing our highs back up into the mid 70s.
