Rain Moving Back In Late Sunday Into Monday
We have seen a good amount of rain here across Central Texas over the past few days, but we got a nice break from it today with all that clear sky. Unfortunately over the next few days another storm system will move its way through our area and bring us some more rainfall and storms.
A low pressure system is developing out to the west and we will start to see the effects from it tomorrow. Lots of cloud cover will be present through much of the day and a few showers may work their way in, although whatever rain we do see will likely be limited to areas to the west of U.S. 281.
More rainfall will shift its way in from the west overnight Sunday into Monday as the system continues its way east. Lots of warm and moist air will be in place ahead of the cold front on Monday which will lead to the most widespread rainfall and the strongest storms of the next few days. Severe storms are possible but not likely, with any storm that does reach the strong to severe level high winds are the most likely threat.
Forecast models have been trending north with the worst of these storms and the heaviest rainfall, so worse conditions are expected around the DFW metroplex and along the Red River, but we are still well within the area that is expected to be impacted by the system.
After these storms pass through, the rest of the week is looking up. Temperatures will drop behind the trailing cold front with highs in the 60s starting Wednesday but we will stay dry for the rest of the work week with the next chance for rain coming next weekend.
