The rain chances Tuesday have been slim to none, and it looks like that will continue on Wednesday as well. A 20% chance for scattered showers will help Central Texas stay in the low 90’s, but that is nothing in comparison to the areas to our north - parts of Oklahoma and the Texas panhandle have been enjoying highs in the 60’s and 70’s the last day or two, with abundant rainfall. It might not be our turn for any of those temperatures right now, but don’t worry, it might be our turn soon!

Now don’t get your hopes up - what we are talking about is most likely what many consider to be a “false fall” - but rain chances could go up, and temperatures could go down by Labor Day weekend! This will happen after the boundary that was kind of a “cold” front (not a very convincing one) returns to our north as a warm front on Thursday, keeping Central Texas hot and dry once more on Thursday afternoon. By Friday, the high pressure ridge will back off enough for this front to (again) return as a cold front, this time FINALLY pushing all the way into Central Texas, bringing rain chances and temperatures in the mid 80’s for Labor Day Weekend!

With it being a holiday weekend coming up, there is a lot going on, such as the first Baylor football game of the season against Auburn on Friday night. Good news is, despite a 40% chance for scattered showers that afternoon, we are NOT anticipating any major impacts to the game. Kickoff is at 7 PM Friday, and while there could be a few showers still lingering, they will clear out that night as the sun sets. Meanwhile, if you have any outdoor plans for the Labor Day weekend, you will want to keep an eye on the radar. We are also keeping a 40% chance for showers on Saturday, and a 30% chance for showers on Sunday. Labor Day itself should clear up, but the temperatures will stay around in the mid to upper 80’s.
