Warming Up Post Labor Day, Rain Chances Could Return Next Weekend
Happy Labor Day Central Texas! A few Central Texans are having to dodge some isolated showers today, but the good news is these showers are not as wide spread as they were this past Sunday. Central Texas should be mostly rain free by late Monday night. Temperatures on Tuesday will start in the upper 60’s/lower 70’s in the morning, and reach the lower 90’s in the afternoon. The humidity will still quite literally be sticking around, so while it will be a few degrees cooler than normal, it may not feel like it. This extra humidity could also result in one or two isolated showers, but the overall rain chances are not very high. There are also some ever so slight changes to the forecast next week, some of which could mean the return of those higher rain chances!

A “cold” front is expected to not push through Central Texas on Friday and Saturday, but to get close enough to cause a slight cool down and bring some scattered rain chances. Right now, the rain chances next weekend vary from 20% to 30% (meaning likely some scattered showers) but as always, there is not always perfect agreement or alignment with weather model data this far out. We will keep an eye on the rain potential going into the weekend and next week, and will continue to revise it as more data becomes available. For now, it appears that the pattern will be favorable for those scattered rain chances and temperatures in the upper 80’s from Sunday through the middle of next week, but this is subject to change.
