Hot And Humid Today, Isolated Showers Possible Tonight
Still Expecting A Cooldown This Weekend
Congrats - you made it to Friday!! Much like yesterday, some areas in Central Texas will make it back into the upper 90’s this afternoon, but UNLIKE yesterday, the humidity has returned. This means the cloud cover will increase today, along with some isolated rain chances this afternoon and evening. We are not expecting to see a washout this evening, just a few pop up showers that some Central Texans may have to dodge. Good news is, despite the heat today, a cold front will move in tonight and into Saturday, increasing the rain chances and decreasing the temperatures!
Rain chances on Saturday will increase to 30% (as opposed to today’s 20% in the evening). Temperatures in the mid 80’s along with these scattered showers are expected off and on all day Saturday. The rain chances on Sunday have decreased some compared to previous forecasts (at 40% now instead of 60%). This is due to the remnants of what used to be Hurricane Lorena in the Pacific basin, NOT moving over Baja California. This means instead of having access to Pacific moisture, Central Texas will be completely dependent on Gulf moisture for this weekend’s rain chances. Sunday will still feature those mid 80 degree temperatures. Some showers could linger into Monday as well, but there is a warming trend going into the next work week, with temperatures back in the low 90’s.
