Happy Sunday Central Texas! Hope you are all ready to start another work week - a week full of warm and quiet weather! Morning lows in the 60’s will bring us that Fall feel, so if you want to feel the seasonable weather, I suggest waking up at 5 or 6 AM each day for the next week and a half. Not a morning person? Well, in that case, you will see some warmer afternoon high temperatures this week! Afternoon highs in the upper 80’s and lower 90’s will still feel nice, but only slightly warmer than normal for this time of year. These temperatures will be accompanied by mostly sunny skies tomorrow and for the days that follow.

These averages drop to 84° for highs and 59° for lows at the end of the forecast (Wednesday, October 8th). When comparing these numbers to the forecast, you can see that the forecast will be slightly warmer than normal for the next week and a half.

In the tropics, Tropical Storm (soon to be Hurricane) Imelda and Hurricane Humberto loom off the east coast of the United States. Tropical Storm force impacts are expected on the east coast of Florida due to Imelda, but the good news is that Humberto’s circulation will actually pull Imelda back out over the open ocean. This is something that is called the Fujiwhara Effect: two tropical circulations moving around a common center due to their proximity to one another. This should keep Imelda from having any further impact to the U.S. east coast beyond Florida. In addition, nothing is expected to impact the Gulf in the near future, so keep enjoying the nice weather while it sticks around!
