Cold Tomorrow Morning, Warm Tomorrow Afternoon
Weekend Cold Front, Rain Chances Next Week
Did you notice the cold front this morning?? No? Well, there is a reason why - as you can tell, this cold front did not effect today’s temperatures, but instead brought WINDY conditions across Central Texas. Some areas saw 40+ mile per hour wind gusts! Good news is, those winds will die down as the evening goes on. Thursday morning looks quite chilly with temperatures in the 30’s, so grab the jacket as you head out the door tomorrow. Things look warmer on Thursday AND Friday afternoons - highs could reach into the 60’s and 70’s ahead of our next cold front!

The next cold front arrives Friday and into Saturday this weekend. The timing has been kind of finnicky, so it is certainly possible that this forecast can change over the next 24 hours - the one thing that has remained constant is how strong the front is. This front will NOT bring a major temperature dip, as most of the cold air will stay trapped to the north. As a result, it will be a slow decline...60’s on Saturday leading to 50’s on Sunday.

There are some rain chances early next week (Tuesday and into Wednesday) as a shortwave trough looks to traverse the state of Texas and the southern Great Plains. Tuesday will feature a 30% chance for rain, and Wednesday will have a 20% chance as the system clears Central Texas to the east. There is also a lot of time for this to change, but the weather data has been consistent in showing these rain chances as of late. Temperatures could rise back into the 70’s once more at the end of next week, despite potential for more “cold” fronts during that time.
