Average Temperatures On Friday, Not So Average Temperatures On Saturday
Could Break A Record High This Weekend!
Sure… snow and cold weather aren’t exactly common around Christmas in Central Texas, but then again… neither are the temperatures in the upper 70s that we are expecting next week. We do have a chilly morning or two in our future, one of them being tomorrow morning, but in general it’s going to feel like Christmas in Tampa as opposed to Temple.
The cold front that moved through the area today brought in some drier and cooler air which will be pretty noticeable tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, temperatures will start out in the upper 30s and lower 40s and rise up into the 60s by the afternoon. A pretty average day but we haven’t exactly seen a lot of average days over the past few weeks, and it certainly won’t stay that way as temperatures will climb back into the upper 70s on Saturday with the potential to break the record high of 78° set in 1978.

Another weak cold front will move through on Sunday and will dip our temperatures just a little but highs all of next week look to be heading right back up into the mid-upper 70s. Winds will be consistently out the south and pretty strong as well, and thus will be bringing warm and moist air for a long period of time. Lots of sunshine is expected but with the moisture moving in we may see a quick sprinkle or two at some point next week. The record high on Christmas day is 82° and right now we are forecasting just shy of that at 79° but that will definitely be something to keep an eye on moving into next week.
