This afternoon, Gulf moisture and a weak disturbance will help spark scattered storms—mainly northwest of I-35, though a few could pop up anywhere. Most of Central Texas stays dry today but better rain chances are headed our way with a rare, August cold front next week.
Highs hit the mid to upper 90s today, with heat index values still pushing 105–107 east of I-35. Tonight stays warm in the mid to upper 70s.
Looking ahead, scattered storms remain possible Monday and Tuesday, then a weak front drifts into North Texas midweek, bumping up rain chances Wednesday through Friday and knocking highs back into the low to mid 90s.
