Labor Day weekend will come with scattered showers and storms, with Sunday looking like the wettest day and carrying the greatest risk for localized flooding. If you’ve got outdoor plans—especially camping or boating—you’ll want to keep an eye on the weather through the weekend.

Today, the rain looks to be scattered and we warm into the upper 80s and 90s. With the daytime heat, a few stronger storms could be possible with lightning and gusty winds. After a quick lull post-sunset, we will be tracking widespread rain returning late tonight into Sunday morning, bringing the heaviest rain potential. A few areas could pick up heavy rain quickly, so minor flooding is possible before the rain tapers later in the day Sunday.

Labor Day itself should bring fewer storms and more breaks of sunshine, with highs rebounding into the upper 80s. Then, a stronger cold front arrives midweek, ushering in drier, more pleasant weather through the end of next week—think highs in the 80s and lows dipping into the 60s.
