Scattered showers and storms are moving across the area this morning, thanks to a disturbance overhead and the jet stream helping push waves of activity our way. While thunder and some gusty winds are still possible through mid-morning, the severe threat is fading as things gradually quiet down throughout the day. There are pockets of heavy rain and localized flooding issues may arise in low-lying areas/areas prone to flooding through midday.

By this afternoon, drier air will filter in from the north, shifting showers southward. Central Texas could still see a few spots of rain, but not nearly as wet as the day started. Rain chances taper off by sunset, leaving us with a dry and pleasant Saturday evening. Highs will be much cooler today too - some spots might not even make it out of the upper 70s, while others top off around 80. Not bad!

Late tonight into early Sunday, another disturbance looks to bring showers back to Central Texas, mainly in the southern zones. Rain chances tomorrow are much smaller than today.

Looking ahead... southerly winds return, ridging builds overhead, and temperatures climb back up with little to no rain in sight next week. We are back into the lower 90s by Tuesday.
