Central Texas’ weather is FINALLY changing for the good! Instead of seeing a long lasting string of hot temperatures like we did for the first two-thirds of October, notable temperature swings are showing up about once a week. For the remainder of the work week, we’re on the upswing, but the next big temperature drop returns before we kick off the new work week.

November weather isn't on the docket today. We're out the door this morning with warmer than average temperatures in the mid-50s, but we're also settling in the lower 80s late-day. Our average high today is 73°.(KWTX)

Today’s record high temperature of 88° won’t be reached, but we’re closer to that record temperature as compared to our average high of 73°. Out the door, expect morning temperatures in the mid-50s. An abundance of sunshine though will boost temperatures quickly! We’re settling late-day in the low-to-mid 80s for highs. There’s no major weather change tomorrow, but we will be a bit warmer out the door and coming home too. Morning temperatures in the upper 50s with a few morning clouds gives way to afternoon sunshine with temperatures settling in the mid-80s.

Two cold fronts are set to push through over the next few days. The first one won't bring a big temperature change, but the second one will drop temperatures notably!(KWTX)

TWO cold fronts are on the way to Central Texas over the course of just two days which, honestly, isn’t the best thing for us. The first cold front arrives Friday and will shove away pooling moisture in the atmosphere so the second cold front Saturday will come through dry. Neither front will bring rain, but the second front will make up for the first front’s lack of a big temperature change. Ahead of Friday’s late-day cold front, we’re expecting morning temperatures near 60° to warm into the mid-80s with sunny skies throughout the day. Winds will shift late in the afternoon to come from the north as the front passes through, but you won’t notice really anything else from that front. We’re out the door Saturday morning in the low-to-mid 50s and we’ll settle in the low-to-mid 80s late day. Yes, the temperatures will change some, but the BIG change arrives Saturday late-afternoon and into Saturday night with the second cold front passing through. North winds pick up Saturday night through the day Sunday as cold air spills in from the north. We’re still out the door Sunday morning in the upper 40s and lower 50s, but afternoon highs with full sunshine should only warm into the mid-60s! It’s a 20° swing from one day to the next!

Low temperatures are warming up for the next few days, but a BIG drop in temperatures arrives early next week!(KWTX)

Saturday’s cold front brings us a notable change in the weather, but it won’t be a long lasting one. Both Monday and Tuesday morning will feature low temperatures in the mid-to-upper 30s, but afternoon highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s will be among the coldest daytime temperatures we’ve seen this season will be around Monday! With temperatures in the upper 30s Veteran’s Day morning, expect temperatures for Veteran’s Day parades to be in the 40s and 50s, but we’ll settle in the lower 70s late-day. Temperatures continue to warm up from there with upper 70s and lower 80s returning for the rest of the work week. Our next chance for rain and our next cold front may be set to arrive next weekend, but the jury’s still out on that.
