Killeen ISD says Associate Band Director ‘no longer employed’ after investigation finds evidence of inappropriate photos
The Harker Heights High School band director was previously placed on administrative leave following the allegations.

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Harker Heights High School says the Associate Director of Bands, Mr. Tyler Claycomb, is “no longer employed by Killeen ISD” after an investigation of allegations regarding inappropriate communication with a student.
On Monday, the school notified families of students in the band program that Mr. Claycomb had been placed on administrative leave following the allegations.
Since Monday, the district says the Killeen ISD Police Department investigated and found evidence of inappropriate photos on Mr. Claycomb’s phone.
The district says the images appear to include school-aged individuals.
Killeen ISD says law enforcement officers will contact parents if it’s determined their child is involved.
Mr. Claycomb has since resigned and is no longer employed by Killeen ISD, according to the district.
Killeen ISD says Mr. Claycomb passed all required background checks before being hired, and the current allegations occurred after his employment began.
“Student safety and well-being remain our highest priorities, and our staff is here to support students and families,” Killeen ISD says.
The district says parents are encouraged to talk with their students about any interactions, communications or concerns they may have had with Mr. Claycomb related to this situation.
“If your student shares information that could assist the investigation, or if you have relevant information to report, contact the Killeen ISD Police Department at 254-336-2810 or submit an anonymous report,” KISD says.
Counselors and administrators are available to support any student, according to the district.
“I want to thank the Harker Heights High School staff who raised concerns that brought this situation to light. Their vigilance reflects the shared responsibility we all have to keep our schools safe,” Dr. King Davis, KISD Superintendent, said.
As additional updates become available, they will be communicated to the school community, according to Dr. Davis.
