KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - The Killeen Police Department charged a 33-year-old suspect in the kidnapping of a 2-year-old and assault of a babysitter.

On Saturday, Oct. 11, officers were sent to the 800 block of Oakhill Drive in reference to a kidnapping.

Police say the investigation revealed a 2-year-old child was being babysat by a family friend when an unrelated man unlawfully entered the home and took the child.

According to police, the suspect placed the child in the front seat of a car without a car seat, causing injury to the child.

Police say the babysitter attempted to intervene and the suspect assaulted her before fleeing the scene with the 2-year-old.

The babysitter immediately called 911 to report the kidnapping.

Detectives with the Special Victims Unit identified the suspect as Audrea Jaron McCuin, 33, who is also known to go by the name “Dre.”

On November 6, 2025, the Bell County District Attorney’s Office issued a complaint for burglary of a habitation with intent to commit kidnapping.

Additional complaints were issued for endangering a child and injury to a child.

McCuin had previously been served with four misdemeanor warrants, including false report, assault, bodily injury and interference with an emergency phone call.
