Suspect sought in assault at Lampasas Church, police say

LAMPASAS, Texas (KWTX) - Police are asking the public to help identify a suspect in an assault at Lampasas Church on Thursday morning.
On November 13, 2025, around 7:45 a.m., Lampasas Police Department officers responded to a report of an assault at St. Mary’s Catholic Church kitchen.
Police say the suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s to 40s, approximately 5’7” tall, with a medium build.
The suspect was last seen wearing a blue shirt, a red and dark-colored jacket, and dark pants. He had reportedly been volunteering in the kitchen for the first time and introduced himself as “Jay.”
After the incident, police say the suspect left the scene in a dark-colored Dodge or Chrysler van.
The suspect assaulted a customer without provocation, Lampasas PD says.
The victim was an elderly individual who sustained injuries that are not considered serious.
Police say the victim was evaluated by Lampasas EMS and released at the scene.
“We are in the early stages of this investigation and are asking for the community’s help identifying this suspect,” Lampasas PD says. “We understand the photographs from the scene are grainy and lack detail, but we believe the suspect may have ties to the area, and that someone may recognize him or his vehicle based on the general description provided.”
