Killeen PD arrest man on assault warrant during walk to ‘Thanksgiving plans’
Police say they also seized 5.5 ounces of marijuana from the individual

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - The Killeen Police arrested a man on a warrant for his arrest during a walk to his grandmother’s house for Thanksgiving. Officers also seized 5.5 ounces of marijuana from the individual.
On November 24, 2025, two police officers were patrolling and spotted a “familiar face power walking down the sidewalk.”
As this individual was walking, he stated, “I really hope nobody remembers I have a warrant,” according to police.
One of the officers recognized the individual as having an active warrant for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
“The officers made contact, confirmed the warrant, and instantly rerouted the man’s Thanksgiving plans from ‘grandma’s house’ to ‘Killeen City Jail,’” police said.
During the search, one of the officers located 5.5 ounces of marijuana on the individual.
The Killeen Police Department says they are thankful for a wanted subject safely taken into custody, 5.5 ounces of illegal narcotics removed from the street and an officer’s dedication to keeping up with intel.
“May your Thanksgiving be warm, safe, and warrant-free, unlike the gentleman who took the world’s worst-timed walk on 11/24/25,” the Killeen Police Department said.
