One person dead after structure fire early Thursday morning, Elm Mott Fire says

ELM MOTT, Texas (KWTX) - Elm Mott Fire Rescue responded to a fatal structure fire early Thursday morning.
Just after midnight on November 27, 2025, Elm Mott Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire in the 2700 block of Mazanec Rd.
Crews arrived to find a fully involved structure with heavy fire conditions and multiple agencies responded to assist in controlling the blaze.
According to Elm Mott Fire Chief Chris Pechacek, one individual lost their life as a result of the fire.
Fire crews are remaining on scene this morning, working to extinguish hot spots and ensure the area is safe.
The McLennan County Sheriff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office say they are actively investigating the cause of this devastating incident and more information will be released as it becomes available.
“During this difficult time, we ask the community to keep the affected family in their thoughts and prayers,” Chief Pechacek.
