KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Killeen ISD says an incident occurred at Patterson Middle School on Tuesday morning involving two adults during drop-off before school.
“I want to make you aware of a situation that occurred before school began this morning involving two adults during drop-off. A verbal altercation between the individuals escalated to an allegation that one of them displayed a weapon,” Trish Brown, Principal of Patterson Middle School, said.
Brown said KISD Police, along with administrators, responded immediately.
Officers found a firearm inside one of the vehicles and detained the individual connected to it, according to the district.
KISD says no students were involved at any point during the altercation, the campus remained secure, and the school day is proceeding as normal.
“The safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we are grateful for the swift actions of our officers and administrators this morning,” Brown said.
