Waco Mayor Holmes announces intent to run for re-election

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Mayor Jim Holmes announced he intends to run for re-election as Waco Mayor in the May 2026 Election.

“I’m honored to have served as Waco’s Mayor for the last two years, as well as serving on City Council eight years prior thereto. I am humbled to have the support and encouragement of many Wacoans, including 6 past Mayors and friends and neighbors from all over our great City,” Holmes said.

Holmes said the city of Waco is experiencing a period of dynamic growth and the future is bright.

“It has been my honor to serve the people of Waco; I love this City,” Holmes said.

“I am genuinely thankful for the regular feedback, guidance and prayers I receive from constituents, and my door is always open. I want to hear your ideas as we work to make Waco the best it can be.”

Holmes says the community is welcome to contact him any time and he is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a voice in City Hall.
