Former President George H.W. Bush’s family goes skydiving to celebrate his 100th birthday
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KWTX) – George H.W. Bush would have turned 100 years old on June 12, 2024. His children and grandchildren chose to honor him at his birthday celebration by skydiving into the lawn of the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum on Friday, June 13.
The former president had a tradition of going skydiving every 5th birthday, all the way up until he was 90 years old.
Several of Bush’s 19 grandchildren made the jump, as did his youngest son Marvin Bush.
“I feel very invigorated and inspired by my dad’s jumping on his 75th, 80th, 85th and 90th birthdays,” Marvin Bush said. “It’s a great lesson to people as they age to just live life to the fullest.”
Skydiving was just one of the events put on by the museum’s ‘41@100′ celebration that has been going on this week.
The celebration concluded with a concert from Texas singer-songwriters Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett on Friday, June 13.
