NBA star Marcus Smart holds free basketball clinic for Fort Cavazos families
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (KWTX) – Memphis Grizzlies point guard Marcus Smart’s “YounGameChanger Hoops Academy” offered a basketball clinic for military families on Fort Cavazos Saturday morning.
The clinic was open for free to U.S. Army family members aged seven through 18. This is the second straight year Smart has held the clinic at Fort Cavazos.
While the kids enjoyed the clinic, parents were offered a free yoga and stress management course.
“To be able to give back to the youth and our armed forces in general has been awesome,” said Shane Rogers, Camp Director for the YounGameChanger Academy. “It is a privilege to be able to do this.”
Smart made an appearance at the end to speak with campers and take photos.
