Central Texas church provides special night to those with special needs through Time Tebow Night to Shine
WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Friday night, thousands of people with special needs were celebrated at churches around the world at a “Night to Shine,” an unforgettable prom night hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation.
For the eighth straight year, Crestview Church of Christ in Waco participated in the festivities as a host.
Every guest received the royal treatment starting as soon as they walked on the red carpet.
It took a lot of effort to make the night a reality, with over 400 people volunteering this year.
“It’s the whole community,” Volunteer Kari McKown said. “I think that’s one thing that is so special about this night is that it’s not just a select few volunteers. It takes the entire community and brings them together to show Gods love to a group of people on such a special night.”
Baylor football players along with KWTX’s Julie Hays were on hand to crown every prom king and queen.
“It was super important for me and my teammates to be here because it’s such a fun event for a good cause and it brings joy not only to us, but it makes us feel like we’re doing something special for other people,” Baylor Quarterback Sawyer Robertson said.
Registration for next year’s Night to Shine will open in November initially for kings and queen and later that same week for volunteers.
