WACO, Texas (KWTX) – The Heart of Texas Down Syndrome Network hosted it’s 11th annual walk on Saturday, March 22, in Hewitt.

There were food trucks, music and entertainment, a photo booth, and plenty of local vendors. Some of these vendors were there to connect families with important resources such as physical therapists, sports and activities for their children to participate in, and more.

“This means everything to families with individuals with down syndrome,” said Taylar Fulton, the Marketing Coordinator for the Heart of Texas Down Syndrome Network. “I couldn’t be prouder of being part of a non-profit here in Waco.”

This event was free and open to anyone who wanted to support the down syndrome community.

“The reason why we celebrate is because people with down syndrome are worth celebrating,” Fulton said. “We need the public to know that people with down syndrome are not scary and their diagnosis is worth celebrating.”
