ROBERTSON COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - A lightning strike ignited a fire in a homeowner’s attic off Highway 79 between Hearne and Franklin.

Bremond Fire was called out to assist multiple Robertson County Volunteer Fire Departments in battling the fire.

The fire started after lightning struck the house, quickly spreading through the attic. Firefighters from Bremond, Blackjack, Hearne, Franklin, and Calvert worked together to control the flames and manage logistics at the scene.

Robertson County EMS was also on site, ensuring firefighters stayed hydrated as they rotated through the intense firefighting efforts.

Despite the severity of the fire, all human lives were unharmed. Unfortunately, multiple animals were lost in the blaze. Authorities are asking the community to keep the affected homeowners in their thoughts as they face a challenging recovery.

No further injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
