Firefighters quickly contain fire at First Baptist Church

COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KWTX) - Firefighters with the Copperas Cove Fire Department responded to a late-night fire Monday at First Baptist Church, located in the 300 block of West Avenue B.
The fire broke out around 10:07 p.m. in the foyer of the church’s main building. Crews arrived quickly and were able to make entry and extinguish the flames before the fire spread beyond the immediate area.
According to officials, the fire was isolated to the foyer, but smoke damage affected nearby areas. No injuries were reported.
The church’s foyer sustained moderate to severe damage, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
