QUANTICO, Va. (KWTX) — First Lady Melania Trump made a special Christmas visit to Marine Corps Base Quantic Monday, arriving with Santa Claus aboard a V-22 Osprey to continue the Toys for Tots tradition.

Mrs. Trump joined Marines, volunteers and military families for the beloved holiday program that has brought joy to children for more than 75 years. The event took place inside a decorated historic hangar where hundreds of children gathered.

“This Christmas season, you, your friends, and your families should wish for the ultimate gift – love,” Trump said. “After all, love travels further than Santa’s sleigh and America’s Ospreys.”

The First Lady praised military children during her remarks, calling them “the heart of today’s celebration.” She helped distribute toys, visited activity stations and spent time with families whose loved ones serve both at home and abroad.

Trump acknowledged the challenges military families face, especially during the holiday season when some parents are stationed away from home.

“Some of the children here today have a parent stationed away from home right now. I know this can be difficult,” she said. “On behalf of our Nation, thank you.”

The First Lady thanked the Toy Association for its partnership and praised the Marines and volunteers who collect and deliver new toys to children who need extra joy during Christmas.

“You help bring the delight of Christmas morning to millions of children, and you remind us that: of all American traditions, kindness and love remain among our most powerful,” Trump said.
