Interstate 35 closed after truck runs stop sign, crashes into concrete wall
HEWITT, Texas (KWTX) — Northbound Interstate 35 is closed near mile marker 328 after a truck ran a stop sign and crashed into a concrete wall before being hit by an SUV Monday afternoon, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. when a Freightliner truck traveling west on Surrey Ridge Lane ran through the stop sign at Surrey Ridge and the northbound I-35 service road, DPS said.
The truck went across the median into the highway and hit a concrete wall, according to DPS. A Dodge Durango then crashed into the truck, officials said.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening, DPS said.
All northbound lanes are closed, and drivers should expect delays for up to four hours while crews clear the road, according to authorities.
Northbound traffic is being sent off I-35 south of Moonlight, officials said. Drivers should check traffic reports and find other routes.
