BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - Dec. 15, 2025 — The City of Bellmead has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2024.

The recognition marks the sixth consecutive year the city has received the honor. Bellmead issued its first-ever Annual Comprehensive Financial Report in fiscal 2018 and earned its inaugural Certificate of Achievement in fiscal 2019.

According to the GFOA notification, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Reports are evaluated by an impartial panel of professional reviewers to ensure they meet the program’s rigorous standards for transparency, full disclosure and sound financial presentation.

City officials said the consecutive awards reflect an ongoing commitment to excellence in financial reporting and public accountability. The city’s finance team prepared the report to provide clear information on the city’s financial position, operations and stewardship of public funds.

The GFOA award places Bellmead among a group of governments recognized for producing high-quality financial reports that go beyond minimum requirements to promote transparency and informing residents, elected officials and other stakeholders about the city’s finances.
