WACO, Texas (KWTX) - West police arrested a Waco man Tuesday who they allege sexually abused a young girl for more than nine months.

Damian Rodriguez, 41, remains jailed under bonds totaling $120,000 after his arrest on continuous sexual abuse of a child, evading arrest, resisting arrest, tampering with evidence and possession of controlled substance charges.

According to an arrest affidavit, the mother of the alleged victim reported to West police on Oct. 13 that her daughter made an outcry of sexual abuse but was afraid to identify the person “fearing threats of retaliation.”

The girl was taken to Hill Regional Hospital after her outcry, but declined to identify her alleged abuser in an Oct. 15 interview with police other than to say he has a “barbed-wire tattoo,” the affidavit alleges.

Four days later in another police interview, the girl named Rodriguez as her alleged abuser, police wrote in arrest records. The girl described “sexual acts and positions that the defendant would make her perform,” the affidavit alleges.

Police arranged a forensic interview at the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children at which the girl said Rodriguez sexually abused her on multiple occasions from Dec. 31, 2024, to Oct. 15, 2025, according to arrest records.

The affidavit does not list the age of the girl, alleging only that she was 14 or younger.
