WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco man who Lacy Lakeview police say admitted “to having a problem he needs help with” was arrested Thursday on charges he sexually abused two young family members.

Apolonio De Los Santos IV, 20, remains jailed under $500,000 bond on a first-degree felony charge of continuous sexual abuse of young children.

According to an arrest affidavit, a 6-year-old girl told her mother in October that De Los Santos “looked at her private parts” while he was living with her family on South Norma Drive in Lacy Lakeview.

The girl told forensic interviewers that De Los Santos had “touched her private parts on more than one occasion,” arrest records allege.

“The defendant was interviewed about this allegation to which he initially lied saying it did not occur,” the affidavit states. “It was later discovered the younger sister of the 6-year-old female child made an outcry as well that the defendant put mosquito medicine on her private parts.”

Police interviewed De Los Santos a second time and allege he “confessed to intentionally touching the vaginal area of the 6-year-old on one occasion that he can ‘remember,’ the affidavit states. “He denied touching the 4-year-old inappropriately, but did admit to putting Benadryl anti-itch on the child’s legs when he believed her to have mosquito bites, which was consistent with the 4-year-old’s outcry… The defendant admitted to having a problem he needs help with during his confession.”

If convicted of the charge, De Los Santos faces a minimum of 25 years in prison without parole up to life in prison without parole.
