Bellmead man brutally assaulted woman who suffered multiple facial fractures: affidavit

BELLMEAD, Texas (KWTX) - A Bellmead man with a lengthy history of domestic violence was arrested Monday after police said he battered his daughter’s mother, sat on her and covered her mouth with his hand so she couldn’t scream.
Elias Shawn Loredo, 46, remained jailed Tuesday under bonds totaling $80,000 after his arrest on second-degree felony aggravated assault and third-degree felony assault family violence with previous conviction charges.

Waco police were called to a local hospital Sunday after the medical staff reported a woman was being treated for a broken nose and other facial fractures, according to arrest records.
The woman also had bruises under both eyes and her nose was swollen and bruised, police reported. She told police Loredo accused her of infidelity and “attacked her.” Loredo reportedly punched the woman several times in the face, causing fractures, in the incident in the 1700 block of Columbia Street in Waco, the affidavit alleges.
“(The woman’s) daughter heard the arguing and knocked on the bedroom door,” the affidavit states. “She didn’t hear anything, so she opened the door and saw Elias sitting on top of (her mother), with his hand over her mouth so she couldn’t scream. (The daughter) saw blood on her mother’s face and she had been crying.”
Loredo fled the home after the incident, the affidavit alleges.
According to the complaint, Loredo has convictions for assault family violence dating back to 2000 with a different girlfriend. He also has similar convictions in 2001, 2009, 2011 and in 2017, when he was sentenced to six years in prison.
He also was convicted at that time on an enhanced charge of violation of a protective order, the records show.
