Plans for Hotel 1928 announced

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - On October 3, 2019, Magnolia business owners Chip and Joanna Gaines announced their plans to transform the 90-year-old Grand Karem Shrine building into a new hotel named Hotel 1928.
The building on North 7th Street in Waco was a home for the Karem Shine, a freemason organization established in Waco in 1919.
The Gaineses purchased the property in November of 2018 and opened it to the public on November 3rd, 2023.
The hotel features 33 luxury hotel rooms for guests to stay in, as well as three different dining establishments.
