World Teachers’ Day is today

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - On October 5, 1994, World Teachers’ Day was made official by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
A special intergovernmental conference in Paris adopted the UN organization’s recommendation concerning civil rights and academic status for teachers.
The day highlights support for teachers, schools, and education systems.
It also sets standards for teacher training, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.
