Car crash kills local Deputy, community still remembers

FALLS COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - On October 11, 2019, Falls County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Jones was killed when a car struck him, and Riesel Police Chief Danny Krumnow was critically injured.
Jones and Krumnow were assisting a motorist whose car slid off State Highway 6 just south of Riesel.
His department now remembers him with a custom chair, and the surrounding community raised funds for a documentary honoring his life and service.
Falls County has dedicated a section of Highway 7 in Deputy Jones’ honor.
