Hill County, Texas, teenager facing seizure relapse after car accident
HILL COUNTY, Texas (KWTX) - A 16-year-old girl who overcame her fight against constant seizures is now back at square one, fighting it again.
Ali Tolliver from Hill County has had epilepsy her whole life from a non-accidental trauma that brought on constant seizures.
“She’s battled epilepsy her whole life; her seizures were 5 to 10 times a day every couple of days,” her mom Jessica Tolliver explained.
She had surgery in December 2023 to remove a part of her brain.
She left the hospital two days later, completely turning around her way of life.
But nearly two years later, a car accident made it all come back.
This august when Ali and her mom were picking up a curbside order at the Walmart in Bellmead, a driver unexpectedly hit the passenger side of the car multiple times.
Tolliver says the impact made her daughter have a seizure relapse, bringing them both back to their pre-surgery routine.
“It’s rough, she hates taking medicine and she feels like it’s her fault,” Tolliver said.
But all this hasn’t stopped Ali from keeping her head up in school and at home.
Ali is still undergoing hospital visits and seizure treatments, but she is back at school.
If you would like to help Ali Toliver and her family with medical bills and car repairs, a GoFundMe has been set up for donations.
