KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - The Band of Brothers BBQ joint, located at.13178 S Fort Hood St., has quite the mess to clean up after a car drove through part of their outdoor patio.

This comes just before they were set to serve Thanksgiving dinner to thousands of people in need.

“He looked up and then all of sudden he took off running for his life and we were all like ‘what?’ and then there was a car on our front porch,” says James Crawford, co-owner of Band of Brothers BBQ.

From the lunch rush to an adrenaline rush, Sunday was slammed at the Band of Brothers BBQ.

“We just got through a big rush so thankfully the porch was cleared out. The story is the driver was cut off and so he swerved to miss the car that was crossing 195,” he says.

The car hit a stop sign, took down electrical wires, and between hitting the restaurant or the tree, “The car drove through here and ended up in that half wall,” he explains.

This, just three days before they were set to cook Thanksgiving dinner for hundreds of people.

“We are hosting it. And we still are ready to cook for 2,000 families,” Crawford says.

They are having to adapt but the drive thru style giveaway is still set in motion.

On top of this, they are still trying to figure out a way to fix the damage.

“We’ll be hosting the Texas vs. A&M game. A fun fundraiser and we will have a blow up screen with a projector for the game,” Crawford explains.

The Band of Brothers BBQ is still open during their regular business hours, just part of their porch is out of commission.
