Bell County, Texas man mowing lawns for people in need for free
KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - A Bell County man is mowing lawns for free. He is seeking out the elderly, disabled, and those who can’t afford extensive lawn care.
If that’s you or someone you know, he wants you to reach out to him so he can take care of the problem.
It all started six months ago, shortly after Isiah Cathcart had to give up his solar panel business. But he took what was left of the money to start something new, that he felt was needed.
“I had a successful business but unfortunately we had to close down recently due to lack of customers coming in but I took my last little bit of income to buy this equipment,” Cathcart says.
While on his previous job, that’s where he noticed people who couldn’t take care of their lawns were getting citations.
“You would think the city would help but they don’t, instead they fine these homeowners,” he explains.
Like Jerilyn McConchie, who hasn’t been able to mow her lawn since July.
“My mower’s dead. I borrowed a friend’s mower. But then his mower broke so I couldn’t borrow it again. I couldn’t be happier. I’m kind of in a tough spot right now and so this is amazing help,” McConchie says.
She watched the three-hour job take place, in awe that someone would willingly step up to take on the job free of charge.
“They want you to have a lawn that looks this bad. It’s courageous. You don’t find many people that do that anymore,” she says elated.
If you would like to support Cathcart on this endeavor, he isn’t asking for donations.
In fact, supporting him is simple and cheap. Just head over to The Kazi Brother on YouTube.
“It is free to subscribe and watch the videos on YouTube. That’s basically how I’m trying to leverage what I’m doing in the long run to create resources and things for homeowners to help them,” Cathcart says.
If you or someone you know could use his help, comment on any of his posts, he says he checks them often and is always looking for the next person to serve.
