WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Two people traveled from North Carolina to cheer on their friend participating in the 7th annual Waco Ironman triathlon.

Grace Savoca and Sophia Blunk traveled to the Waco Ironman competition over their fall break to cheer on their friend, Owen Williamson, who competed in the triathlon. They’ve supported him throughout the training process.

“A few weeks ago, he had his big work out and we were all there at the pool cheering him on throughout the whole process,” Blunk said.

The pair wore shirts featuring Williamson’s face and text reading “Present and positive,” his motto.

“As he trains, he likes to be present and positive the whole time,” Blunk said. “So, we thought it would be a good motto while we cheer him on.”

They were excited to see Williamson’s training pay off.
