The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill celebrates 10 years with new ownership

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill, located in Waco, Texas, is celebrating its 10th year with new ownership.

The Waco staple announced Lightstream Presents, the team behind Haute Spot in Cedar Park and the recently announced partnership with the legendary Coupland Dancehall, has acquired The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill.

According to a press release, the sale was final last month, but Chris, Chris and Brian will continue operations through the end of the year.

“We are excited because this new ownership can take what we’ve built to the next level. This is a great thing for Waco, for music goers, and for the broader Texas live-music community,” the venue said.

“The acquisition aligns with our mission to curate exceptional shows while preserving the spirit and character that fans have come to love.”

The venue has hosted countless nights that helped define the live-music scene in Central Texas, the press release states.

“The combined footprint of Haute Spot, Coupland’s dancehall legacy, and The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill positions us to attract national touring acts alongside beloved regional artists,” the Backyard said.

The Backyard says they have continually seen 30,000-35,000 ticketed attendees per year across the network.

According to the press release, the new ownership group has plans to elevate customer experience, with audio, visual and amenity additions and enhance/expand the performance roster.

“We wouldn’t hand over our baby if we weren’t confident they can care for it better than we can. We can’t wait to see the growth,” the press release states.

The new ownership group says they are committed to maintaining the hospitality, authenticity and high standard of curation that fans expect.

2025 will end with a lineup of: Diamond Rio, Randall King, Lil Joe and La Familia, Eli Young Band, a 10th anniversary party, NYE party and more.

Specific 2026 event dates and artist lineups will be announced as soon as details are finalized.
