Crawford VB punches ticket to third-straight state title game

AZLE, Texas (KWTX) - The Crawford Lady Pirates will get a crack at back-to-back state titles after defeating Windthorst, 3-1, in the 2A-D2 semifinals on Saturday.
Crawford took the first two sets, winning 25-15 and 25-18. Windthorst grabbed the third set and was just two points shy of forcing a fifth set as Crawford ended the match with a 25-23 fourth set victory.
The Lady Pirates will look to repeat as state champions after defeating Iola in 2024.
Crawford and Iola are set to rematch for the third consecutive year in the 2A State Championship game, with Iola winning it all in 2023.
The two state championship game rivals will duke it out next Thursday, November 20 at 7 p.m. at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.
