Baylor stuns #17 SMU in 2OT

DALLAS, Texas (KWTX) - Baylor (1-1) continues their winning ways against former Southwest Conference rival #17 SMU (1-1), as the Bears beat the Mustangs 48-45 in double overtime.

Connor Hawkins nailed the game winning field goal to push Baylor’s winning streak to 14 games over SMU.

Sawyer Robertson lead a game tying touchdown drive with less than a minute left in regulation. The redshirt senior Quarterback connected with Kobe Prentice for the second time on the day time tie the game at 38.

Robertson threw the ball 50 times and finished the game with 440 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

Josh Cameron came alive with nine catches for 151 yards and two scores, and Ashtyn Hawkins has possibly the best game of his career with 10 catches for 145 yards.

Bryson Washington had a hard fought game that saw the redshirt sophomore running back carry the ball 31 times for 115 yards and two scores on the ground, including one to put the Bears up by a touchdown in the first overtime.

Baylor will now move on to face Samford at home next week.
