CINCINNATI, Ohio (KWTX) - After a comeback attempt against TCU in week eight fell just short for Baylor, the Bears attempted to climb out of a 24-0 hole against the 21st ranked Cincinnati Bearcats in week nine.

But the early deficit proved to be too much for the struggling Bears as they drop their second game in a row.

The Bears found themselves down 24-0 with 2:34 left to play in the first half.

Sawyer Robertson was able to find Michael Trigg in the endzone right before the half to make it 24-6 going into the half.

The Bears would outscore the Bearcats 14-3 to start the second half and pull within one score at 27-20, but with 6:13 remaining in the game, Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby would score a back breaking rushing touchdown to put the game out of reach at 34-20.

Sorsby and the Bearcats would add another touchdown following a Kole Wilson fumble on a kickoff return to make it 41-20.

Baylor drops to 4-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Big 12. Cincinnati moves to 7-1 on the season and 5-0 in the Big 12.

Baylor will now return home to face UCF for the Bear’s Homecoming game.
