WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Baylor offensive line coach Mason Miller is no longer with the program due to what head coach Dave Aranda called a “personal matter.”

Aranda made the announcement during his news conference Monday morning.

“It’s a personal matter with Mason,” said Aranda during his weekly press conference.

“My heart and all of, you know, my thoughts and my best wishes for his future go out to him and his family. It’s just, it’s a personal thing.”

Pete Thamel with ESPN was the first to report the news of Miller’s departure from the program.

At his press conference Aranda mentioned that a group of analysts has taken over coaching duties for the offensive line as early as Saturday’s game against Cincinnati.

As far as who will fill the role in the interim for the Bears, Aranda hinted that it may be filled by committee.

“We’ve got a group of O-Line guys that are kind of analyst type guys that took over the role on Saturday and are aiming to do it again this week and the remaining way through.”

A Baylor spokesperson tells KWTX that Miller was not with the team on Saturday.

Miller has been with the Bears for the past two seasons after coming over from Tarleton State in 2023 where he was the offensive coordinator.

Before his brief stint at Tarleton, Miller was the offensive line coach for three seasons at Mississippi State.
