Report: Mexia AD/Head Football Coach Aaron Nowell resigns

MEXIA, Texas (KWTX) - Mexia Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Aaron Nowell has resigned.
Matt Stepp with Dave Campbell’s Texas Football confirming the new on X Wednesday night.
Nowell began his head coaching tenure at Mexia on an interim basis in 2021 after the resignation of then head coach Barry Bond before the start of the season.
Nowell lead the Blackcats to three playoff berths in five seasons and had an overall record of 15-38.
Mexia finished the 2025 season with a record of 1-9.
