Terry Gerik no longer head football coach at Connally, will remain AD

LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas (KWTX) - Terry Gerik will no longer be the head football coach for the Connally Cadets.

Connally ISD telling KWTX that Gerik will remain at the school as the Athletic Director.

“Connally ISD is separating the duties of Head Football Coach away from the Athletic Director’s responsibilities in order to help us better meet the ever growing and changing list of duties that ADs have,” said the school district in a statement.

“Coach Gerik will remain at Connally as our Athletic Director and is looking forward to guiding the process of selecting our next Head Football Coach.”

Gerik has been the head coach of the Cadets since 2021. In his five seasons at the helm, Connally made four playoff berths and won back-to-back district championships in 2022 and 2023.

Gerik complied an overall record of 29-26 at Connally. The Cadets finished the 2025 season 3-7 and failed to make the playoffs.
