Rain chances moving out... Heat moving in!
We are still holding out hope for a few spotty showers, but that potential will be dissipating rather quickly. Today we have a 30% chance for rain through sunset. Severe weather is not anticipated with any of this activity, but some brief heavy rain and lightning is possible.
We will stay rain-free overnight, with lows once again dropping down into the low-to-mid 70s. A few isolated showers may form Friday afternoon, but the coverage will likely less that we have see the last few days. It will be seasonably warm Friday, with highs in the low-to-mid 90s and heat index values in the upper 90s.
High pressure starts to build in over the weekend and stays locked in across Texas next week. That means rain chances dissipate and the heat builds in. We may see a few isolated showers during the middle of next week, but rain chances are 20% at most. As we approach the 4th of July we will see highs close to 100°!
