Other than a couple stray showers, most of us will remain rain-free for the rest of today and throughout much of your Friday. It will be warm and humid Friday, with highs in the low 90s and heat index values climbing into the upper 90s. Scattered rain chances return as we head into the weekend.

The Gulf sea breeze starts acting up again this weekend and a weak disturbance pushing toward us from the north could kick up widely scattered showers and non-severe rumbles of thunder. The best timeframe where we expect rain will be during the afternoon hours throughout the weekend. Highs both Saturday and Sunday will be around 90°, but the high humidity rates will push the heat index values close to 100°.

We’ll likely shut the faucet off again next week and likely for the entirety of the work week, and the more typical summer heat starts to build in. Highs will be in the mid 90s most of next week, with heat index values 100°+!
